McKinney Repertory Theatre (MRT) and was incorporated in January 2003 by a group of local amateur actors that had worked together for several years and desired to bring the gift of theatre to McKinney. In the years since, MRT has become McKinney's Official Community Theatre and is supported, in part, by a grant from the City of McKinney through the McKinney Arts Commission (MAC).
As a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization MRT welcomes additional financial support through tax-deductible donations, as well as, through participation in programs such as Amazon Smile, and the Tom Thumb Good Neighbor program, where percentages of each purchase goes towards MRT. Without the generous support of local McKinney businesses, sponsors and patrons, we could not do what we do!
MRT is a member of the American Association of Community Theatres (AACT).
MRT performs primarily in McKinney at the historic Collin Country Courthouse, now known as the McKinney Performing Arts Center, located in the old downtown square.
